A woman has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident near to the Oakwood Medical Centre in Derby.

The 39-year-old from Derby has today (Tuesday 15 February) been charged with wounding with intent.

She has been remanded and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court tomorrow (Wednesday 16 February).

Officers were called to reports that a man in his 40s had been found with stab wounds near to the centre at around 2.50pm on Sunday 13 February.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition – his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

It is thought that this was an isolated incident, with no wider risk to the local community.
